A Humble Beginning
More than 15 years ago, a small group of physicians, students and alumni
from the Anderson School of
Management established monthly meetings. Physician executives
were invited to speak
on the
days relevant topics. Fellow health care executives
were finally able to keep abreast of vital happenings in this
burgeoning industry.
Word slowly spread about this small but dynamic group that
quickly mushroomed to include not only physicians, but also
business leaders and health care executives from all parts
of Southern California. This fledgling nucleus clearly identified
a dire need. Thus, The Healthcare Collaborative at UCLA was
born.
The Collaborative has a clear and focused mission. The Collaborative
sponsors several kinds of speaking events that wrap into networking
opportunities designed to assist the health care community
to stay in touch with the dynamic health care marketplace.
The audience mingles students, alumni, faculty and staff of
the Anderson School at
UCLA, and members of the Southern California health care community.
Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteer participation is actively encouraged. Our volunteer
committees work together to ensure The Collaboratives
ongoing success in presenting quality subjects targeting todays
challenging and hot issues. As we mentioned, all the Collaboratives
programs are developed and produced by its members.
